2020 Information of the University

From MOE’s Higher Education SPROUT Project, we have received NT$52,350,000 to better our college’s education quality and students’ learning performance.  We so far have reached 99.86% of the expected goals.  In line with our Academic Development Plan, we have regular meetings to check and assess the project process; we also continue to hold a school-wide presentation to display the project results and performance.  Below are the summary and highlights:

  1. Cross-Disciplinary Achievement

We have strongly strengthened the link among different academic disciplines.  Faculty with distinguished performance in teaching, industry cooperation, research development, and student counseling is selected as role models to encourage more satisfying performance from other school members.  Among our distinguished faculty, Dr. Yu-Mei Zhang of Nursing Department and Dr. Jin-Lun Lai of Communication Engineering were awarded excellent research development results by MOST because of their research project “Interactive and Feedback Self-Training System.”

  2. Cross-School Learning

Participating in our cross-school cultivation plan, five groups worked with more than ten different institutions, such as Taipei Veterans General Hospital and Industrial Technology Research Institute.  Our students carried out professional projects in the institutions; moreover, they taught students of Zhong Zheng Elementary School to be better in their ability of language production and reading comprehension.

  3. Cross-Field Internship

Year-round internship has been continuously promoted in order to bridge the gap between academic professional knowledge and industry requirements.  To meet the goals of learning for workplace, we have actively recruited more companies for student internship.  From Academic Year 106 to 108, 655 students joined the internship program with a total of 620, 491 internship hours.  Among the internship students, one went to Wisol Pte Ltd in Singapore for a year-long internship, earning roughly NT$44, 500 per month.

  4. Cross-Country Interaction

Our international exchange students not only took an English lesson to improve language proficiency but also shot an English film to introduce their campus life to promote the beauty of Taiwan and our school.  Enthusiastically taking part in activities with foreign schools, our faculty and students were gaining their global perspectives of different cultures.  Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, we still keep on interacting and cooperating with our international partners.
